Psalms 139:14 (KJV)
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Probably the most introspective question ever asked is: “Why am I here?” The answer will depend on your worldview.
1) Biblical Worldview: you believe in the absolute authority of the Bible and because of this you believe that God is our moral lawgiver. He decides what is good and what is bad. What is allowable and what is not.
2) Man’s Worldview: you believe that man is the measure of all things and he gets to decide what is good and what is bad. This is relativism where what’s good for you is good for you and what’s not good for you doesn’t mean it’s not good for me. In man’s worldview, there are no absolutes with the goal being to achieve one’s own pleasure.
If you believe in man’s worldview or evolution then you believe that you a random chance occurrence and that life has no real meaning.
If you believe in God you know that you were fearfully and wonderfully made. You are loved and you were created for a purpose.
1 John 4: 9-10
God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
John 3: 27
God in heaven appoints each person’s work.
Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.
Each of us has been given a purpose and it is to glorify Jesus; it is not to live for ourselves. Sometimes in the chaos of what is going on around us we forget our purpose or sideline it for what we want. How sad it would be to one day be in front of Jesus knowing we didn’t use our time here wisely!
Getting back to the question at hand, which is, did God create us or did we slowly evolve over millions of years?
Psalms 139: 15-18
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day has passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up in the morning. you are still with me!
These are beautiful words from a loving Father who cares about every aspect of our lives even while we are in the womb. God’s thoughts about you are innumerable! He never leaves us!
Our God is sovereign. He is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. A grave mistake is to put God in a box.
It’s important as Christians that we don’t view the Word of God aka the Bible through the world’s lenses but view the world through the Bible. If you can’t believe and trust in the first page of the Bible why believe in anything that comes after…like the resurrection of Christ?
Even among Christians there is a debate about creation. Check out this short 4-minute video that goes over 5 reasons why Christians shouldn’t believe in the millions of years theory.

Mark 10:6
Jesus responded…But God’s plan was seen from the beginning of creation, for He made them male and female.
As the above video states, Jesus is referencing the fact that Adam and Eve were right there from the beginning not millions of years later.
Now that we have some Biblical truths about our origins let’s take a look at the science and discover if the science supports the biblical account of man’s creation or the slow evolution of man.
The below video, “Are Humans Related to Chimps?”, looks at the two main ideas that are commonly used to support a shared ancestry. Find out the answers to:
1) How similar is human and chimp DNA sequence?
2) Is human chromosome 2 the result of a fusion that supports shared ancestry with chimps? And…
3) Why do a historical Adam and Eve matter?
It’s time to stand on God’s Word; for ourselves, our children and those in our lives. It's time to get back to biblical authority. God doesn’t lie or exaggerate so when He says He created the universe and everything in it in 6 days, it’s 6 literal days (Genesis 1:3-5)! And when He says He made Adam and Eve on day 6; He made humans on day 6.
